About Monet

Monet is an absolute joy to have around. He greets you when you come up to his tank and is always darting in and out of his decor. I got Monet on December 5, 2020, so it’s been pretty much six months since the day he first came home!

Monet is amazing, and while I wouldn’t changed him for the world, he wasn’t the betta I had first planned on getting. I had bought one from a breeder about two hours away, but when I got there he informed me that the betta had ed. I convinced my dad to go with me to Petsmart, and as you can probably tell, that’s how I ended up with cute little Monet. He flared at me a few times in his cup and I just knew I had to get him.

His favorite food is probably brine shrimp and while he only gets them a few times a week, he always super excited.

Monet was the first fish to bite me (I think haha) and that might be my favorite memory. My hand had been hovering over the tank while rearranging some driftwood and he did a little jump and bit my finger. I still how surprised I was, and only after I stuck my finger in the water and he gave me another nibble did I realize what had happened.

He’s the first short finned betta I’ve had and although I’m not calling my others lazy per se, he certainly never seems to run out of energy. As well as being my first short finned betta, he also is my first koi!
