About Pearl

Pearl is a bundle of energy, always swimming to and fro in her 10 gallon tank. When not speeding around, shes exploring everything she finds, sometimes uprooting a few plants in the process...

I got her back in the middle of November, my boyfriend decided to get me another betta since I obsess over them so much. I guess we came at a bad shipment time, or people are buying a ton of bettas, as 2 of the 3 stores had only 2 or 3 fish, all tiny and sick. The one store that had many healthy bettas happened to be the one I got Sushi from.

I was debating between getting a big cambodian red girl and Pearl, as both did not have clamped fins, but decided to get Pearl because of her black lace and beautiful blue scales.

She loves her Omega One Betta Buffet pellets, and I hope to introduce her to frozen thawed foods once I can get my hands on some!

One thing I love about her is how food driven she is. If I so much as stand in the same room as her tank, she will swim against the glass closest to me like crazy. I always thought it was adorable, although it make pictures near impossible to get!

She was originally in a 5 gallon tank, but when Sushi's fins started slowing him down I decided to switch him to the 5 gallon and she went into the 10 with the rasboras. She was so curious about them, and she’s the same size as them, so I sometimes found her schooling with them, and she fits right in!
