About Angel

Angel is a very sweet and curious little girl. She loves exploring and finding new things to do in her environment. Whenever I add something new, she always swims over to check it out, even if it may seem a little scary or strange at first. I have had Angel since July 2nd of 2020, so just over a month!

I had been doing research on female bettas for weeks and I had finally narrowed down my choices between a wild alien patterned female or a koi patterned female. My tank was super close to finishing it's cycling, but I was a bit reluctant to buy my betta right away so I had decided that I wanted a snail to live in the planted tank until it was ready (ready as in plants all beautifully grown out and well spread). I went to four PetSmarts and one Petco that day.. and could not find a single snail. Every store was out. Until I decided to go look for some more moss balls... and the rack of bettas caught my eye. I stooped and saw five koi female bettas. All of them were lively, two were a bit timid, one (the oldest, as I could tell by her having the most patterns on her scales) was a bit temperamental. But then I saw a little female that was in the middle of the age range.. She was pink with splashes of blue on her tail. What drew me to her was her eyes.. She was the only one that had gorgeous bright blue eyes. I looked at the other females and was about to pick the oldest one, but I just couldn't stop my eyes going back to the smaller one with gorgeous eyes...

And that was the day I went in for a snail.. and came out with Angel. :joy:

Angel is not a picky eater when it comes to her pellets. She loves all three varieties I feed her. However, she oddly hates daphnia, but adores bloodworms. I give her one once a week, but she already recognizes the yellow cap on the bottle. The food she loves the most of the three varieties would have to be the Betta Buffet Pellets. She always chases after those with excitement and gobbles them up as fast as possible.

My favorite memory of Angel would have to be a more recent one. I recently installed a Twinstar M3 Algae Inhibitor into my planted 5 gallon tank. The first time I turned it on, she wouldn't stop darting through the bubbles! But then when it stopped, she looked so sad. I think she thinks the M3 is her new bubbler toy! :joy:

Some fun facts about Angel:

• Angel loves her snail buddy, Sheldon. She always follows him around as he's nyooming fast to get to algae.

• She ONLY sleeps in her little log. Never anywhere else.

• She loves when the plants get new leaves and likes to check them out.

• She only likes swimming up to you after eating a snack to say thank you.
