Auden

This is the worst update about Auden.

Since my last update on April 29, he was doing so good. He got upgraded to a 2.5 gallon tank and was absolutely loving it.

At one point he developed and RECOVERED from dropsy. He had been doing so great for these past two weeks.

I fed him on Tuesday night (May 28th). He ate ravenously and begged for more after. He was relatively lethargic the 29th and the morning of the 30th. I thought it off as him digesting because it always took him a day or two to fully digest his food.

On May 30th, 2019, I came home and found my baby boy ed away in the front of his tank as if looking for me.

He started his journey with me in a cup on a Petco shelf, miserable and cold. He got to experience warmth and blood worms and love. And he left too soon.

He had the best personality. He would always come to see me whenever he thought I was there, no matter what. His tank was, and still is, on my nightstand, so I would always look over and he would be right there sleeping with me or staring at me. I find myself looking for him every 5 minutes to see if everything was just a bad dream, but every time I look, reality knocks me down.

His whole body was unique. From his dopey bends and fins, to his beautiful eyes. He was such a deformed baby, but had the most soulful eyes, they saw right through me. And his little smily frown. He had the most ridiculous face

I've been known to describe his swim as a "waddle" and it truly was. His deformities caused him to have extremely small fins and his body was too heavy for them. He had to use all of his energy to swim to the top of the tank to get his food, but he always did and stayed up as long as he could.

I will be forever grateful for getting to experience his love and waddles.
