So i might get a 20 gallon long tank ( petco dollar per gallon sale ) but i was wondering if i can co-hab shrimp ( cherry/ghost ) and snails, if so how many with my a betta. Also what would be a good heater to get ( links would be very appreciated ) and what heater watt should i go for
* i might get a 20 gallon and use the current 10 gallon i have as a quartine/hospital tank ( i feel a 10 gallon would be crammed with the decor i want to use ) *

I have a 20L aquarium. Based on my experience, I suggest you consider a pair of Pearl Gourmis, one Flying Fox, Bamboo Shrimp. All are docile & leaves my Beta alone, even if he flairs up at them. You can also add a couple of snails. I have found that a combination of these enhances my enjoyment of my Beta. The one objection I have are plastic plants, if your Beta is long flowing, he will tear. There is a rule of thumb, five gallons per fish. I do not include Shrimp or Snails, they’re so small. Hope I was help.
Thanks, that info will be very helpful, im gonna look around for tank mates ( if i cant find any, the tank will have the betta )
I asked a shrimp retailer about keeping shrimp with my betta and he said the only ones he could safely recommend are amano shrimp because of their size
I will probably get a snail or two then ( no where near me has amano shrimp )
If you have the space for it I'd say go for it. Can't really say what stocking would be good though, I can't keep shrimp alive so I wouldn't know.

Just be aware that a 20 gallon can weigh up to 250 pounds when including water and substrate! So make sure your table is well ed and sturdy if you’re not going to use a stand specifically made for holding that much weight
