Found a 16 gallon tank at the thrift store the other day and I’m trying to figure out what to put in it.

The tank (+driftwood)
Already decided on a female betta, but not entirely sure what to keep with her
Thinking maybe some corys and shrimp or maybe even some ADFs
Any ideas?

What’s your pH? If you have soft water I recommend ember tetras! They grow up to around an inch, they’re schooling fish and they’re a bright red. I mentioned the pH bit because in harder water they’ll look pale and drab
Not sure yet since I haven’t cycled it yet or anything, but it’ll probably be around 7.8 since that’s what my other tank is

You could also go for Harlequin Rasboras. They’re naturally from the same are area and have similar living requirement so they would be a good match, but they’re also a schooling fish so you would need 6+
8 pygmy cories
I’d put some Shrimp, Snails, and a a group of small cories. I wouldn’t put other fish with a betta in a 16g imo.
Neon tetras are good tank mates and so are zebra danios! I prefer the zebra danios over the tetras but the tetras are nice too just make sure you have multiple of them (I have 8) because they’ll mess with your Betta if they don’t have enough of a school. Five wasn’t enough because they would mess with my Betta Henry but adding 3 more fixed the problem. ADFs are great too, I have three and they all get along great with Henry.
I’ve had bad experiences with zebras in the past so I’ll have to , but thanks for the suggestion
What the heck are you putting that tank on? Please respond with pic!

I think so? Even if it’s not it has no problems holding water
