Hello! Happy September! To recap;

we had a wonderful collaboration

with anofher community that was

super successful. This time, we bring

you another contest that involves animals

and people at the same time!

If you are active on other social media apps

you may have noticed an art trend going on.

This is using an animal such as a cat or a pet

to reference and draw a person or an anime

face. This trend started off of an online

source/article comparing how anime

figures were observed to look like they

were based off of cats to be more cute.

You may find examples of these below

and how artists use this to continue the

trend.

Your goal here isn't JUST limited to using

a cat only. It's completely cool to use your

own pets for reference but you can also

use any other animal in the world. The more

wild it is can actually help you make more

interesting faces that may be not be in

your comfort zone. :eyes:

We encourage both digital art and traditional.

To work with this better for traditional you can

use guidelines to draw the outline of the

animal or use a lighting source under your

paper.

A headshot is the miminal requirement

for how much you have to draw. It is

up to you if you'd like to expand on it and

make it a full body piece.

- You may make multiple entries for

this but it does not increase your chances

of winning

- Follow the [guidelines] regularly. If they

violate any rules, you will be automatically

disqualified.

- Please keep tracing minimal. Online

photos of irl animals are allowed to be used

or use your own. You cannot use drawings

of animals made by other creators as this

could potentially be plagiarism.

- Be a good sport. Ultimately this challenge is

for facial features and having fun with them.

Negative comments that is bashing on other

participants will be a disqualification factor.
