Alan grew up in an Earth Kingdom colony with his parents, before his house burnt down in a freak accident when he was ten, claiming both of his parents’ lives. He managed to escape, but he got a nasty scar spread across his back, as well as a newfound fear of fire. After the loss of his parents, he went to live with his grandfather in Ba Sing Se, who was a former Earthbender Wrestler. He taught Alan how to properly Earthbend, before eventually ing away. Now, Alan travels alone, trying to see the world.
