In an Ambiguous 2006-2009 Modern-ish YouTuber AU….

While untying his apron and setting it aside, Zuko felt a faint buzz at his hip. Flipping open his phone, he saw the new text message waiting for him

Uncle: Zuko, can you come here when you are done clo please? - From Iroh

Rolling his eyes at his Uncle’s slightly inept ability to text, he started making his way out of the kitchen and down the short hallway leading to the office. He made it to the green and ornate door, as all the doors were decorated at the Jasmine Dragon, and saw that it was ajar.

Zuko went to knock on the opened door to announce his presence when he saw something that made his stomach drop.

Sitting in the office at the Jasmine Dragon, was Uncle Iroh watching… a YouTube video. But not just any YouTube video.

This video was the culmination of Zuko's hard work. It was the achievement he worked so long for, with video after video trying to get to his goal. It was his most viewed video to date: his masterpiece.

It was also the most embarrassing one.

Zuko's face burned as his Uncle turned to face him.

“Nephew! Why didn't you tell me you made a video on this you tube website?”

“I- ah” Zuko cleared his throat. “How did you even find it? I thought you didn't know how to use websites?” He deflects.

“Sokka has been teaching me about this one. I've found it quite amusing, if a little... violent.” Iroh’s eyes flick back to the video.

Zuko mentally cringes.

“But now that I know you make videos, you can teach me!”

Zuko paused. “Wait wait, teach you? No it-”

“This could be a great strategy to market to new customers!

Zuko had to stop himself there. Uncle being on YouTube and maybe seeing more of his videos is deeply embarrassing. But he can't stop Uncle from advertising the shop.

“Now how do you make videos on this thing?”

“Hello my new friends! Welcome to the Jasmine Dragon Tea Shop! …”

Stepping into the main serving room of the tea shop a few weeks later, Zuko heard a familiar voice, but low volume and tinny, almost like…

“Zuko! Why didn't you show me this! Your uncle has reached new heights of awesome!”

And there was Sokka, grinning in front of him and waving his new smartphone around wildly in Zuko's face. Zuko went to grab the offending item from his grasp on instinct, until his eyes focused on the image of his Uncle on the tiny screen

“Oh, so you found my Uncle's new .”

Zuko had helped his Uncle create an and post his first two videos. After that, his Uncle seemed to get the hang of it and Zuko didn't check up on the .

“And so very new it is! Only a few weeks and he has an crazy amount of views already! When I found his videos, he was already insanely popular, so why didn't you tell me sooner!” Sokka continued to blabber on while Zuko looked back down at the screen.

He now realized that the simple innocuous text at the bottom of the video now read 905 thousand views!

“...And everyone has already titled him ‘online tea uncle’ or ‘online tea dad’, which is slightly concerning when you think about all the parental issues, but…”

The realization sunk in and Zuko found himself staring in disbelief.

How had Uncle become so much more successful than Zuko? What had Zuko created?
