Story Description:

The Little Mermaid Crossover

18 year old Levi Ackerman lost his parents in a car accident. Because of this incident, his 9 year old sister was to be put up for adoption since they had no known relatives left. Not wanting that to happen, Levi takes his younger sister in. Problem was, all he had was a small apartment late on rent, and a part time job as a waiter that barely ed him.

The beach was his comfort place. Specifically, the hidden cliff that little knew about. One day, he was looking down at the water when he saw someone swimming. Except something was off. This person had a tail?

TW: Mentions of death and depression

Levi

Levi stared blankly at the letter in his hands. He was just kindly informed that his parents had died in a crash and that his younger sister would be sent to an orphanage if he didn't claim her. What the hell am I supposed to do in this situation? Levi thought. Thinking hard, he didn't want Mikasa to be sent to an orphanage. Even when he didn't have the necessary items for her, or the money to her financially, he made up his made to take her into his humble abode.

Aka, his cramped apartment that was late on rent.

He turned his phone on to check his emergency bank . His main had about $400. His emergency currently had $5000. Which was the money his parents had saved for him when they opened an for him at age ten. Back then, he never payed attention to it and assumed it would be useless in the future. Well, he actually thought he'd be dead in the future because of his 'fake depression' phase. Now he could see he was wrong. He silently thanked his deceased parents and started writing numbers down on a piece of paper to start planning his budget for each month.

The next day, he went to go collect his sister. Right when he saw Mikasa, he could immediately tell that she had been crying all night long. His heart dropped and he quickly rushed over to her. When she raised her head, Levi wrapped his arms around her and stroked her back. "Mika, are you alright?" He said with concern laced in his voice. She quietly sobbed and after a few minutes responded with a hiccupy voice. "Are mommy and daddy really gone?" She asks.

Levi could hear her devastation and had to restrain himself from breaking down in front of his sister. He hesitated before answering her question with a gentle voice. "Yes, yes they are Mika. But don't burden yourself, because I promise that I will never leave you." After saying this, he hugged her tighter. The truth was, his parents' death affected him very much. But since the news was so sudden, he wasn't able to accept the fact that it really happened.

Hearing Mikasa cry brought him back to reality and made him realize that everything had indeed actually happened. And in such a short time too. Suddenly, he was hit with an overwhelmingly strong feeling of anxiety. What will he do now? He's barely an adult and is practically a single parent now.

He'll think about it later. For now, he had to focus on comforting his little sister as she was absolutely heartbroken. They stayed there in the same position for another half an hour with Levi rubbing comforting circles around her back and running his hands through her hair. When Mikasa was finally able to calm down he scooped her up in his arms and carried her. He nodded at the person in the front desk as a sign of appreciation and brought Mikasa to the backseat of his car.

Levi watched as she put her seatbelt on and stared out the window with eyes filled with sadness. After making sure her door was closed, (and was on child lock even though she was already 9) he went over to the drivers seat and began to the drive back to his apartment. The entire drive was silent.

When they finally arrived, he parked his car and looked to the backseat to check on Mikasa. The little girl was exhausted from everything that had happened and was sleeping peacefully, head leaning on the car window. After bringing her inside and locking the car doors, he laid her down on the small couch. He hadn't decided yet where he would let her sleep as there was only one room in his apartment. He contemplated giving her his bed while he sleeps on the couch. He considered Mika more important than himself anyway. He believed that she deserved the world.

After a week, Mikasa had forced a smile and said that she was ready to go back to school. Levi agreed, needing some time alone and knowing that she had to do a weeks worth of make up work. He sighed. That meant more homework he had to help with.

When she finally went back to school, he took a deep breath and drove to the beach since he decided to visit his secret beach cliff. The area was a place he discovered when he was 13. He went there when he wanted to cry, let some anger out, or simply wanted to relax. It had a certain peace to it. A charm that he never grew tired of. As he sat on the cliff, he let his legs swing as he pondered. After thinking about his parents, he started to cry. With his head down, his tears dropped down into the ocean, becoming one with it. He could finally let everything he'd been bottling up out.

Opening his eyes, Levi wiped the tears away and managed to compose himself. Then he saw something. Something in the water. Something that was moving in the water. It was just a blur, but it seemed like a person. But something was strange... This person, if it was even a person, had a tail.

'What the actual hell?' Levi thought. "A-am I hallucinating?" He then asked himself. He stood up to leave, thinking that he may need to get a therapist. But there was a rock that he swore wasn't there earlier.

He fell backwards into the ocean.

Eren

Eren's father had always told him that he was not allowed under any circumstances to go to the surface of the water. Or even near the surface of the water. His father had warned him a gazillion times that it was dangerous, and that he would be captured if he ever disobeyed him. But Eren was a very stubborn problem child so what did he do?

Eren went to the surface.

'My father is exaggerating it!,' Eren thought. 'All the others have been to the surface. And that was when they were 15!'

One reason why Eren so desperately wanted to visit the surface was because all his friends had done it. And that was 4 years ago, when they were all 15. Today was Eren's birthday and he had just turned 19 years old. His peers had always mocked him for being a wimp because he didn't go. Well, mostly Jean mocked him for it. That damn seahorse face. (No offense to the seahorses)

So today Eren was going to prove that he was not a wimp! He would travel to the surface despite his father's wishes. He knew that when he got back, he would be in for one hell of a punishment. But that wasn't very important at the moment.

As Eren swam towards the surface, he could see the water turning brighter. He was amazed. Was this what they called sunlight? He learned about it at his school a while ago but never really believed in it. He tried to touch one of the rays of light going through the water but nothing happened. His eyebrows furrowed. He thought that possibility something magical would happen.

When he finally reached the surface, his eyes widened it delight. It was breathtaking. He smiled as he thought about how his father was wrong. Where were the pirates that were waiting to kidnap him? Where were the great white sharks coming to eat him whole? Where were the humongous ships that would run him over? There weren't any!

But although he didn't spot anything his father had listed, he spotted something interesting. Someone or something was sitting on the ledge of a cliff, their legs swinging back and forth. The something seemed to be crying. Eren immediately felt bad. He had a soft spot for anybody who felt sad, no matter who it was. Even seahorse face.

The something on the cliff brought his head up. Eren quickly went back underwater, with fear of being spotted. His father had told him that humans were horrible creatures. And the thing sitting up there looked just like a human. He was informed that to know how to determine a human was to look if they had a tail. If they had legs, which were 2 sticks below their groin area instead of a tail, then they were no doubt an evil human.

Eren watched from under the water as the said human stood up and began to walk back to wherever they came from. But then, the human tripped backwards and fell down towards the ocean. Eren gasped as he heard a loud splash and saw the human drowning. Without thinking, he approached them. Swimming fast, he holds the human in his arms. He didn't care if they were evil or planned to do something bad with him. All he knew was that nobody deserved to die no matter what they did.

He quickly brought the human up to the surface and looked around. He found a small island not too far away from them. He carried the human there and gently laid them down on the scorching hot sand. He put his ear down to the humans chest to listen for a pulse. When he heard a badump badump he smiled. He had saved someone!

Not too long ago, he had seen a movie with his best friend Armin. It was called 'The Little Mermaid." In the movie, a mermaid girl named Ariel had saved a human from a shipwreck. But soon after making sure he was alive, she left. At the end, she fell in love with the human and they married. Eren's father had confiscated the movie right after and said that it was all lies, mere lies the humans came up with to lure mers. At the moment, Eren had felt like he was going through the same thing. But he wanted to test something out. He would not leave and wait until the human woke up, then introduce himself. He thought it may help him find a true love faster than Ariel did. For all that he cared, his father was the one who was lying and Ariel's story was true.

Eren continued to sit on the hot sand and hummed a pleasant song to ease his boredom.

Levi

Levi felt his eyes fluttering open as he coughed up a bit of water. He put his arm above his eyes as the sun was blinding him.

"Oh! Hello there" Levi heard someone say these words to him. Levi turned his head to the side to find out who was the holder of this beautiful voice. He had heard the person humming a little earlier and it was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard. He looked up to the holder's face and his mouth opened in amazement. Those were the most pulchritudinous eyes Levi had ever seen in his entire pathetic life. Those emerald green eyes with ocean blue hues and golden specks that shined in the sun but were breathtaking even without it.

"You-you're beautiful," Levi half stuttered half whispered. Then he blushed. He couldn't believe he just said that! And to a total stranger too!

"Thank you. You are too" The other said softly but with a hint of caution in his voice. Levi looked slightly lower to look at the boy's lips. They looked soft, cute, and pink. Levi smiled with his eyes.

Then Levi noticed that the boy's upper half was bare. He wasn't wearing anything. Was he naked? Levi's eyes trailed down. But when he looked down more, what he saw wasn't legs. It was a tail. A light aqua blue tail that got slightly darker in the middle and an intricate fin with an assortment of colors that matched the boys face.

"I'm dreaming aren't I?" Levi asks. "There's no way something as ethereal as you is real."

The End.
