In 2017, I was introduced to Attack on Titan by my stepfather, and ever since I started season 2, Attack on Titan immediately became one of my favourite anime. In this post, I'll be sharing my thoughts and experiences on certain aspects of both the anime and the manga.
You'll see a spoiler warning in the manga section of this post, so you can just skip over that section to avoid any major manga spoilers :')
Anyways, Let's get started!

One thing I really love about Attack on Titan is how well most of the characters are written. My favourite character development is definitely Gabi's, but I'll talk more about that in the manga section to avoid spoilers here. My favourite character is Armin Arlert. I love everything about him lmao, but what I ire the most about his character is his ability to think outside the box when coming up with different plans to help his comrades out in most situations.
Other characters that I really like are Annie, Falco, Reiner and Mikasa. Even though I think he's a bit overrated, I do like Levi as well. Another thing I'll mention here is my favourite titan. I instantly fell in love with Porco's jaw titan design when I saw it for the first time. I don't just like this titan for it's looks though XD, I do believe that the jaw titan is pretty underrated and that it has the potential to be one of the strongest titans (or at least have one of the biggest advantages in a fight).

My favourite season is season 2. I started Aot around the time season 2 came out and the scene that got me really interested in Attack on Titan was Ymir's transformation. I just thought that it looked really cool lmao, and around that time, Ymir became my favourite character.
Season 4 is definitely my second favourite though, and not very far from season 2. I never had any issue with the studio change, and I think MAPPA is doing a great job with adapting the manga. I did notice that the anime made Porco alot friendlier than his manga counterpart and a few other details were added and removed, but I think that was a good thing.
Also I like the CGI Beast Titan more. :satisfied:

Attack on Titan definitely has some of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in any anime. My favourite opening is season 2's opening, Shinzou wo Sasageyo by Linked Horizon. What's funny to me is that I started season 2 before I read the manga, so I actually got a little confused when I saw the flying whale and the dinosaurs, thinking that I would see them later in the series XD.
My favourite ending is season 3 part 1's ending, Akatsuki no Chinkonka by Linked Horizon. I seeing the secret ending for the first time, I got really scared thinking that something was wrong with my phone lmao. I still have some trouble watching it to this day, like it was something out of a horror movie XD. Another ending that I really like is season 4's ending, Shock by Yuko Ando. I love how they made Falco the center of attention, hinting at his importance to the story.

Please skip this part if you don't wanna be spoiled XD.
Where do I even begin, I love the Attack on Titan manga too much. I getting spoiled about about Armin becoming the collosal titan, so that's why I started reading it and honestly I was really confused at first but that's totally my fault XD. I did reread the manga sometime after and now everything makes sense.
The latest chapters of the manga really hurt me, especially the part where Annie saw her father. I must it though, I prefer this outcome over most of the fake spoilers I saw, where Eren wins and everyone except Armin, Gabi and Falco dies, that just doesn't sound right you know XD. I strongly believe that Eren never truly hated Armin or Mikasa, and thinking back to Eren Kruger, when he told Grisha to save Armin and Mikasa, just further proves that point.
The character development in the manga is just amazing. Like I mentioned before, my favourite character development is Gabi's, with the way she went from hating all of the island devils to finally realizing that everyone is the same. The hate she got in season 4 was just ridiculous, but I do hope that the anime onlies are able to see her in a different way, just like I did back then. It's really crazy how one character's death can affect the development of multiple other characters. My second favourite example of this, after Sasha's death, would be Erwin's death. Hanji and Armin are the two characters that were most affected by his death, not really Levi because his character doesn't change as much. I also strongly believe that Armin becoming the commander was the right choice, and I love how it was being built up ever since Erwin's death. I heard alot of people saying that Jean should have been the commander but despite having the leadership skills necessary, I don't think the story would be as meaningful if he had gotten it instead, besides, it's not like he defeated the collosal titan or came up with the plan to rescue Eren from Liberio. I'm not hating on Jean though, I love him XD and I think his place in the story is just fine, well :'), I guess we'll see when the final chapter comes out.
The last thing I want to talk about here is Floche, that scumbag lmao. I love his character, though I'd hate to meet someone like that irl. Floche has some crazy character development, alongside Eren. I seeing him in season 3 part 2, and I actually got really mad at him, I'm still mad at him lmao but I do appreciate him contributing to making the story a bit more complex than a simple good guys vs bad guys story. Also, it's kinda sad how Floche indirectly caused Hanji's death :'), like it would be really funny if an anime only asked "Will Hanji die?" and you just send them that face XD.

I love the OVAs. My favourite one is Lost Girls but mostly the one with Annie. No regrets was also really good and really sad :'), but seeing this side of Levi and Annie just has me loving them even more. I also really love that one OVA with the cooking competition between Sasha and Jean, that was funny lmao. I definitely recommend watching all the OVAs if you haven' t seen them yet. I also need to rewatch Aot Junior High, I managed to watch most of it in parts lmao.

Once the manga ends, I will definitely reread it. The same goes for the anime. I don't usually try to rewatch anime/tv shows that I've already seen once, but there's just something different about Attack on Titan that makes me want to see more or it's so great that I wouldn't mind reliving the experience. I'm kind of scared considering that the manga just has one more chapter left, but at the same time, I believe in Isayama and I will accept any ending that he writes for us.
