Zeke and you, are what the people of Marley call “soul mates.” When the two of you met, it clicked. He was in awe of your beauty and wits. You were in awe of his strength and appearance. The man was gentle towards you, he cared for you. Whenever you were hungry, he would prepare a meal. At times, he would sleep with you to “ensure your safety.” Which was just another lie of his so he could sleep with you. His other lies were nightmares, which you knew a man like him couldn’t have.

There were many other lies he made. But today, you were different and he didn’t know if he should make yet another lie. It was unusual since he never saw you this way. Your eyes seemed tired, your movements were more slow as though you had no ambition, and you only smiled to the kids who waved at you. Other than that, no smile was worn on your face. Zeke wasn’t too fond of your behavior swings.

As Zeke walked towards your bed chamber, he saw you tracing a map with your fingers as though trying to memorize it. He caught your attention by knocking on your door.

“It’s late yet your still up.” He teased.

You only gave him a stare before returning to your work. The man ignored this as he walked towards your bed. He sat himself down, letting out a sigh. His back was hunched over his knees, his palms held together between his legs. The man waited for you to glance at him which took several minutes.

“Finally, Ive been staring at you, have you not noticed?” You mumbled an apology. He patted the cotton sheets beside him as you understood the signal and idly walked over. It took a couple minutes of silence before he spoke.

“I’m tired, are you?” You shook your head even though you were.

“You know, these days with the planning of the war and killings I find myself having nightmares often.”You sent him a glance, humming a response l.

“That night I slept with you I didn’t have one at all.” Zeke paused before continuing, “Can I sleep you once more?”

You softened, you’ve never seen him so vulnerable. The last time he climbed onto your bed and gave you no other choice but to comply. But now, he’s asking you. And, how can you deny? You nodded, this time speaking.

“Okay, just this once.”

He smiled brightly before saying. “Just this once.”

Zeke crawled into the left side of the now shared bed and you crawled beside him. Once you laid in a comfortable position, his arms wrapped around your waist as his head nuzzled into your neck. Of course, that night you allowed it seeing how it was only to be once. But after that, he kept complaining of nightmares and you couldn’t help but soften at his actions. This one time thing, soon became a routine. He visited every night and every night he would nuzzle you against you. You allowed it, how could you not fall for his lies?

The man very much loved his partner, you. He cherished you like gold, kissed you gingerly, and spun you every time he saw you. The kids of Marley often teased you by calling you his princess. Which you didn’t mind because you really were. A fairytale, the two of you were. But you stopped behaving as the delicate princess/prince recently. Reiner didn’t know why nor did the warriors.

Porco suggested it was the loss of a family member, which they all highly doubted. Pieck thought you were just going through depression, which they all doubted seeing how you were so cheerful and open. If you were actually depressed you would’ve spoke. After all, you had a prince in shining armor to help you. Reiner was utterly confused. He rarely saw you, he asked your neighbors and students for help but they said they caught no sight of you. A few mentioned you walking towards the library or your dormitory carrying books and stacks of paper.

You were one to be cheerful but you were certainly one to toil without purpose. So Reiner followed you one night to your dorm, which wasn’t a difficult task. You room several routes, different routes in fact. You ed by the sea albeit it was the other direction from your home. Reiner was honestly worried, have you been seeing someone else?

But that thought vanished as you walked into an empty alley way. You paused at the dead end, spinning around to meet his eyes.

“Why are you following me?” Reiner was caught off guard by your bitter mood but smiled. He walked over to you and gripped your wrist, your shouts filled the alley way until he spoke.

“I have a place I’d like to show you.” He gave you a warm smile before running towards a large building.

It had concrete arches, ancient architecture, and high windows. You had no idea where he was leading you to yet you followed. Reiner paused once he reached a building with a small window. The two of you peered outside it before he began to quickly walk up the steps. He paused when he reached the rooftop. You gazed at the tall buildings that were scattered around Marley.

Reiner sat down in which you followed. His fingers found yours as they intertwined. He smiled because he knew that you were slowly coming back, even if you weren’t completely. You soon cuddled up against his chest, Reiners hand caressing your back sweetly.

“Whatever is going on Im here. I’ll always be here even if you don’t want me to be.”
