⚔Greetings, cadets!⚔

══════════════

As many of you have likely noticed by now, Primary leader Caroline has retired from her long-time role as a of this community. We thank her for everything she has done to make this community great - she will be missed!

Along with the change in staff, there have been a number of other new changes in the community which you may have seen. This blog will address some of these already made changes, our works in progress, and plans for the community!

Staff Changes

With Caroline’s retirement we were in need of an additional Leader on the team. So, I am pleased to officially announce our promotion of Britt to the position of Leader! (Formerly known as 'Shippers', in case you didn't know 🤭)

In addition, I Danchou have taken on the role of Primary Leader. I promise to work hard as your new primary and continue to dedicate myself to this community and it’s !

Alas, my final staff change to announce is the retirement of Curator Levithea has stepped up to lead the team as their new Captain!

Resources

Have you seen the new tab next to the Featured feed? Just swipe over to the left, or click the link here to check out our brand new Resources page. This blog serves as a quick reference for many of the important features around the Amino, as well as a hub for finding additional helpful guides and resources.

Interested in knowing what kinds of challenges and contests are coming up each month? You will find a calendar of events posted here as well! We won't give everything away - there are always lots of surprises in store, so consider this like a little sneak peek at what's to come.

Content Crediting

The issue of reposting uncredited art has been a major complaint by the community on pretty much every Survey we have sent out. So, your moderation team has finally decided that it was time to step up our enforcement of proper content credit! To put it briefly: if you didn't make it, give credit!

You can find all the details about the changes explained in this post.

We know this is a big change for many of you - but don't worry, you are not in it alone! Your community s (as well as many of your fellow of the community) are happy to help. Using the same post linked above, just comment with the image you need help sourcing and we will do our best to find it for you!

Reminder: 'Google', 'Pinterest', and 'credit to the artist' are NOT considered proper credit!

Mod Group Updates

I have already covered a shift in team Captains under Staff Changes, but there are a couple other big changes that I would like to let you know about!

Firstly, the Accolade Designers has been shifted from and 'Art & Edit' group to an editing exclusive group. With the narrowing of their group focus, expect to see lots more resources and guides from this expert team to help all our community editors to improve their own skills!

(But don't worry, artists - you have your own focused content team as well! Check out the Artisan Agency for tips and tutorials aimed at both traditional and digital artists.)

Secondly, we are pleased to announce the creation of a brand new -run group! This group will be lead by Curator Levi and work closely with the moderation team to create fun events and activities for the community to enjoy. Sound interesting? Be on the lookout for details and recruitment coming soon!

Find information and applications for all our -run groups here.

That's all for now! Thank you for reading, and as always, I hope you continue to enjoy your time here on AOT Amino!

For art crediting wouldn't it be more reliable for the person reposting the art (whether it be an edit or just because) to provide a link to the actual source? Like a link to a Twitter post or DeviantArt page?

Yes, links are always preferred! We are still rolling out changes as the community gets used to crediting since we never required any in the past (except for OCs). Expect to see more updates on our policies as we go forward!
