Sodo's descent into darkness began the day Misaki was killed. Misaki had been more than just a best friend; he was Sodo's moral anchor, his brother in arms, the person who had always kept him grounded. When Misaki’s life was taken in front of him, cradled in his arms as the life bled away, Sodo was shattered. Rage consumed him as grief strangled any sense of reason. In a haze of fury, he lashed out, directing all his hatred at the Yakuza present at the headquarters that day. He blamed them—not just for Misaki’s death, but for destroying the part of himself that was still innocent. He couldn’t look at the Yakuza without seeing his best friend’s face, and soon that rage transformed into self-loathing. The world had turned on him, and he hated himself for being a part of it.
Then, his mother ed away. She had been his last connection to some semblance of normalcy, the only thing keeping him from fully succumbing to the violent underworld that had claimed his soul. At just fifteen, Sodo found himself not only grieving for his mother but also facing a monumental task: taking over the entire Yakuza operation. This wasn't a simple gang, but a sprawling organization, drowning in expenses, deals, and dangerous alliances. Every day brought new financial pressures, new enemies, and new betrayals. Sodo was a boy trying to run an empire built on blood and deceit.
Instead of allowing himself the time to grieve, he threw himself into his work. He spent hours pouring over ledgers, studying the intricacies of the business, trying to understand the tangled web his predecessors had left him. Sodo would sit alone in his mother’s old office, the silence broken only by the scratching of his pen and the shuffling of papers. He studied until his eyes burned, until sleep felt like a distant memory. He couldn’t afford to eat, couldn’t afford to rest, because failure wasn’t an option.
He had made a promise to Misaki as he lay dying, that he would save the Yakuza, that he wouldn’t let it fall apart. That promise haunted him. The image of Misaki's lifeless eyes forced Sodo to keep going, even when he could feel his mind unraveling. But no matter how hard he worked, no matter how many sleepless nights he spent, the Yakuza was too far gone.
The organization had too many expenses, too many enemies, and not enough time. One by one, Yakuza partners started pulling out, sensing the inevitable collapse. They stopped returning his calls, stopped showing up to meetings. And as Sodo’s world began to close in on him, he found himself with no choice but to turn to the most dangerous man alive: Hydra. Sodo didn’t know Hydra’s real name, didn’t care to. All he knew was that Hydra had the money and influence to bail the Yakuza out. But this wasn't a simple loan—it was a deal with the devil. In exchange for the money, Sodo would become Hydra’s enforcer, carrying out his most brutal, most vile work until the debt was paid off.
The debt was massive, far more than a teenager could ever hope to repay, and Sodo soon found himself trapped in a cycle of violence and degradation. By day, he ran the Yakuza, struggling to keep the business afloat. By night, he became Hydra's shadow, a weapon used to eliminate anyone who stood in Hydra’s way. The blood on his hands grew thicker with every job, and the weight of his guilt became suffocating.
As the years ed, Sodo changed. The boy who had once dreamed of a way out was gone, replaced by a man who felt nothing. The violence, the killings, the betrayals—they drained whatever humanity he had left. By the time he was twenty, Sodo was numb. He had seen too much, done too much, to ever feel normal again. Every drink he took was another attempt to drown the memories that haunted him. He barely spoke to anyone anymore, trusting only his sectors heads, a close confidants who had been by his side since the beginning. Even with them, though, Sodo’s temper flared, and he found himself lashing out at the people who still stood by him.
Despite the inner turmoil, the Yakuza was finally starting to stabilize. The business was improving, money was flowing again, and Sodo had paid off his debt to Hydra. But unfortunately even Sodo knew Hydra will come to him again, but Sodo wasn’t the 15 year old kid anymore. He decided its time to stop Hydra and regain his position as the most feared and dangerous man in Akai Tamashī city even if he had to work with his enemy.
