Do you expect them to make a new engine every time they make a new AC?

Creating game engines costs a lot of money and is extremely time consuming. Not even Bethesda creates a new engine for every Elder Scrolls game or Fallout game. The only developers that do that wait years to release the next game, and I’m talking like sometimes a decade. Also Ubisoft started the development of Odyssey roughly around the same time as Origins so you can’t really say they copied Origins. One last thing, have you noticed that every AC game that has the same protagonist looks alike? AC1 through AC Revelations all looked like each other because they starred Desmond as their protagonist. The Kenway games aka 3, Black Flag, and Rogue, all look alike because they’re using the Kenway’s and the abstergo employee as their protagonist. Rogue counts because Haytham was still in the game even if the main character was Shay. Unity and Syndicate all looked alike because they had the initiate as their protagonist. Odyssey looks like Origins because it’s continuing Layla’s arc from Origins. I hope that last part made sense.
