STORY

This game was the first Assassin's Creed game that I ever played, and as such it holds as very special place in my heart.

This game holds a lot at stake and must deliver a strong experience story wise. Being that it is the last installment in the Ezio trilogy it must have a sense of completion, while as a part of a larger ongoing story, it must also have something driving that story forward. This game delivered both magnificently.

To begin with, it was fun experience with an older, more mature, and wiser Ezio. His motivations at the beginning of the game fit right into what you could expect from a man which had the background that Ezio had. The pacing was terrific, everything just came at the right timing and at no moment did I felt that I was bored whilst pursuing the main quests.

The ending when Ezio talked directly to Desmond felt like a true finale to a great character while delivering what was necessary to keep the story going.

The missions in the Animus Island, although weird, felt like a window inside Desmond's mind, and offered a break from climbing with its own mini game.

GAMEPLAY

While some may say that this was the most unimaginative game out of the Ezio trilogy, just copying Brotherhood on it's gameplay elements, I believe that, as the last in a trilogy, it did only good by not introducing many new things. This game should feel like an ending and we really could not feel such thing if the game had a lot of new mechanics. Instead it chose on refining old mechanics and making them work on their fullest for the last installment on Ezio's saga. I pity the fact that I didn't use the bomb mechanic more often as I think it had a great potential. It felt boring for the most part.

Overall the gameplay was fun and challenging right when it needed to be.

This game was a storytelling masterpiece, bringing together the best that series had to offer up to this point and tying it all together with the urgent promise for a new installment in the future.
