Endearment is a short

writing I based around Silco.

Its based off the first season,

so there are no spoilers. So,

with that being said, enjoy.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      Betrayal, hatred and grief. All are extreme factors that can lead to one’s demise. In years of adolescence, having a strong hope and an ultimate goal in mind, he was as innocent as anyone else would’ve been.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      But that quickly changed.

  ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      A friend, a brother, family. Vander was everything to him in that aspect. They grew to share similar goals, similar dreams, ultimately believing they can change the forces of zaun.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      However, unbeknownst to him, Vander betrayed him. Not only as a friend, but as a brother. Nearly dying by the hands that once fed him, left him traumatized.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      But he didn’t take that experience for granted ; he knew it made him stronger, who he was today. Despite that, he would never forgive his brother for what he had done.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      One could say he felt alone within his experiences. The sense of pain and grief he must of felt, was he coping alone?

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      For a long while, he was. Until the moment Vander slipped up.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      A child. Her strands a beautiful shade of antique blue. The moment he seen the abandoned innocence, he felt a piece of himself within her. That very moment, he didn’t feel so alone. A piece of her family — play someone false towards the one they claimed they loved the most, gone.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      Taking in this child, he felt his heart shift in odd ways. An odd urge to protect. Throughout the years, her company ed his isolation. She was a strange one, but her intelligence succeeded his expectations. He saw himself within her ambitions and designs ; it was something he never wanted to lose.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      The moment he took her in, he had not judged her. Not once. He watched her grow up, teaching her anything and everything he may know. One could say, he had softened due to her presence. But he digresses.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      Despite everything, Silcos dream had never faded. It would be achieved no matter the cost, even if he had to destroy to get to it.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      But atlas, that dream was never fulfilled.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      Being so close, reaching for the heights, the stars, and everything he could ever desire, was quickly stripped away from him.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      His daughter, as unhinged as she was, he had loved her in his own, peculiar, way. But within that moment, she never seemed to reciprocate that.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      Pow!

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      A bullet piercing right through his entirety. It felt hot, so much in shock that he could not feel the pain. His fading, lifeless eyes locked with the one he loved the most.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      The irony in being killed by someone he called his own, was overbearing. But the pain the powered haired girl felt, was candid.

⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      ⠀⠀      He knew he would die after trying his absolute best to achieve his dream. Knowing he tried and almost fulfilled it, and knowing his daughter, he was sure she would continue his legacy.

“Don't cry. You're perfect.”
