Did you know that in Japan flowers are sometimes used to represent imagination? There is a saying in Japanese that goes '見ぬが花' which means 'Not seeing is a flower', and holds the meaning that nothing can compete with imagination. Reality can be cruel, grey, even ugly, but our imagination can take us to a whole new world that we created, where things are exactly as we want them to be, beautiful as a flower.

I like to imagine that every petal which falls from the cherry blossom trees is a new idea that someone came up with, evolved from that person's imagination and scattered into the physical world as a petal first.
