So I first heard about Amino when I was 10, so I decided to the app. I was also an artist back then, and I started posting art on here. However, I was 10, so my art isn't the best, and I often used refrences. By refrences, I mean just copying art and drawing it myself. I didn't trace them, but just copied them.
On this app, I learned about OC's. I never knew it stood for orginal characters, I just thought it was a human drawing, that's it. So I would often post drawings and name it "OC" and give them a name, even though I didn't make them. Now, I did make OC's back then, I just didn't know what they were and didn't label my drawings properly.
So I posted a drawing on Amino of a drawing I copied online and labeled it an OC. Since I was copying, I didn't have an artstyle. Then a said I was copying my art style from another artist. Art style, not art.
This is an invalid argument because
1. Of course there's going to be similar art styles, that doesn't mean it involved copying
2. I was copying the art, not the artstyle
3. I was 10, I didn't know
Looking back on it, it was very stupid of me t just copy art and call it my own OC, that was just 10 year old me being cringe. I do apologize for not knowing what an OC is and labeling it inporperly.
What's funnier is that my mom ended up forcing me to delete this app because there were people messaging swear words to me, and she didn't want me to have social media like this. So... I never used it again until now that I've came back.
After I deleted the app, my friend in real life who also used amino told me about how everyone was accusing me of art style theft
I'm back 4 years later, and I'm 15 this year... yayyy. Is this app out of trend now or still running? I there's usually 100+ s online everytime I logged on but now there's only 3 or so...
