Staying with the anime community for the next set of double matches for this week on this Mother’s Day Sunday, with a battle between two winless candidates in Group A and an uphill climb for one candidate in this Group B match after going into a bye month last month.

Starting with the Group A stages, it’s the battle between two winless candidates at the polls, with both of these candidates searching for their first win of the season. Starting with Momo Ayase (Dandadan), lost back-to-back matches against Yoruichi Shihoin (Bleach) in March and then a loss against Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) a month ago to put her in this state despite currently sitting in third place in the standings and inside the playoff bubble, and now desperately needed a win to stay on course. Mind you, her first two opponents were against playoff contenders, so it wasn’t a walk in the park, but still, a win is needed to stay on course. And the same may have to go for Momo’s opponent for this week in Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop), who is currently sitting in last place and needs a win as well, as well as a massive boost in the standings to stay alive because no one wants to be the first one to be eliminated in the coming weeks as we prepare to enter the summer months.

Meanwhile, in Group B, it’s an uphill climb for one Rin Okumura (Blue Exorcist) as he is back on the ballot from his monthly bye. He’s back on the ballot and it’s going to be an uphill climb to get retain the frontrunner spot in the standings. Both Vegeta (Dragon Ball) and Roronoa Zoro (One Piece) are tied at 59 votes, with Vegeta leading the group following his win over Zoro last week. So, it’s going to be a massive climb for the Blue Exorcist fandom to retake what was theirs a few months ago. And to do that, he needs to take on his opponent for this week in Mash Burnedead (Mashle), who lost in his debut match a few weeks ago against Zoro and is now looking to get his first win in the voting tournament.
