Manhwa Review || How to Win My Husband Over

The narrative centres on Rudbeckia de Borgia, a charming and devoted Ruby who is the daughter of a Romanian pope. In the historical novel, she is reincarnated as a villain after dying in an airplane accident. According to the story itself, she was supposed to be married to Iske Omerta, a Paladin, but her husband would ultimately destroy her. She was resolved to persuade and win her spouse over in order to prevent her grim fate. Will she be able to overcome the miscommunication and establish her innocence?

I believe that a compelling story can serve as the foundation or a backbone of any manhwa, but a blogger should evaluate the events and reasons of the happenings. This manhwa primarily seemed to me to be typical of other reincarnations. Nonetheless, it does a fantastic job of creating new and unique villainesses where retaliation is not the main theme.

Unlike previous stories, this manhwa focused heavily on healing, trauma, and emotional damage in addition to romance. It's about attempting to survive in a dangerous environment where the FL might be perished at any moment, not about showing affection. She was hated and condemned of others, but she still remained comionate of everything she does, and honest, although at first she hide the truth even if she was tainted. Our MC's relationships are likewise different; they don't begin with love or tenderness because they both have past trauma and constantly distrust each other. They came to trust and opened their heart accepting their feelings. As a result of this feelings the narrative feels unique.

The structure is clear and simple to understand. It has a strong beginning that builds suspense before reaching a satisfying climax. The plot is not hurried, and each section has the opportunity to grow , and the changes between scenes seem seamless, each got their deserve spotlight. In addition, there are other more compelling side storylines. One of these is character history; their trauma shaped their mentality, making them to be hesitant to trust people and afraid to show emotions.

Female Lead had to prove that she wasn't who they assumed she was. Because of her family background, people of the North detested her, for them she was only aiming for the crown, but then Romania have pledged to uphold peace and order as a result of the political disputes between the two regions. This subplot greatly contributes to the story's depth; it gets richer as the FL deals with the difficulties of her eating and vomiting disorder, which causes her to get thinner and thinner. Her anxieties also have an impact on her mindset.

The story's foreshadowing is another strong point. Despite the lack of explanation about Romania's resentment of the North, the author depicted dialogues, emotions, and flashbacks of Romania's covert crimes. We are all aware that most fantasy romance characters are predictable. ML cold but caring, villains are evil, and most of all innocent sweet FL. Thankfully, most of these clichés were avoided in this manhwa. They are not just shallow but rather profound regarding their characters.

The stereotypical reincarnated character wanting a sweet life would likely fit the profile of the female protagonist, Ruby, but we got to see that she was a lot more. She is tender yet fragile but she can stronger than most will ever realize. Her back and legs bear deep scars, from the violence of her obsessive brother which makes her a pity. All she wanted was a more loving and accepting family where she did not experience from her previous life and a family. She build something better and earning trust.

Iske, however, is more than just your typical heartless duke. His first appearance doesn't look like a gentleman individual, who would be ferocious and distant but would eventually change his demeanor as I flip the chapters. He has always been safe due to his coldness, it became his strongest barrier away from enemies. Another point: he blamed his father for the death of his mother, which he managed to hide for a longest time. Underneath his austere demeanor lies a deep feeling of remorse due to a traumatic experience. But as the narrative progresses, he starts to forge weakness toward his wife. This indicates that he is just scared to open up and not because he is coldhearted.

All the characters, including the secondary ones, had been given room to have their backgrounds and personalities introduced. The story seems richer and more interesting because of their varied reactions to Ruby, some of whom are skeptics while others are inspired.

Over time, these characters progress step by step and become better because of their interactions. In fact, one of the strongest points of this manhwa is this type of character development. There were small strides in Ruby's improvements. She was emotionally unstable and too scared and started to be insecure on herself to move forward on her own when she got to North. She was hated by all of those around her, even her husband. She realizes that she cannot give up and continues to move forward. Aside from acquiring Northern ways, she was also tolerant to those who ill-treated her. Regardless of going through a lot of challenges in her life, including political coercion, rejection, and even threat by her family, she remains poised. She was able to learn how to be generous without losing self-defense.

Iske's growth is more subtle. He rarely expresses emotion and only speaks when he absolutely has to. But Ruby continues to coax him with respect and love until he starts thinking more positively about her. He then concerned and provide solace to her sister and to the people around her.

The fact that their relationship began with zero benefits them. When his husband expressed interest in her and assured her that she would be protected, I was too emotional. I saw respect from both sides. Is there supposed to be another Iske in the world?

One of the most impressive aspects of this manhwa was its visual style. The artist employs elaborate backgrounds such as the garden from the North, an old-style church, and other scenes. Another impressive feature was the monsters. I liked how they put them into Ruby, especially when she was taken by her loving monster buddies and then by Frost Dragon, who is friendly to her. The fact is that she can communicate with them, however the author did not explain why those monsters love her specifically. Other than that, the combination of delight and tears was gorgeous, transforming into a warm orange with shimmering sun beams.

The characters' appearances are what drew me in to this manhwa. Let's begin with Ruby; she was picked to be a charming and joyful princess of the South, but when you delve deeper, it was her secret emotion of fear that was highlighted in the chapters. I can feel her panic, trembling, and the revulsion of vomiting. Overall, it has clear lines and rough and soft colouring to accentuate the various moods. While Iske's dominant demeanour complements his aura, his bright red eyes, which might stun you for a time, and his gorgeous delectable figure. Although his face resembles others, his role and gaze are far superior than other white haired protagonists. It also draws my attention to Ellen, Iske's sister. I feel as if I can hear her gently spoken voice; she exudes royalty. She kept her cool even after her nanny made a terrible mistakes.

There are two seasons, I'm not sure if there is a season 3. I'm hoping there will be since it guarantees that the plot allocates adequate time for character interactions as well as mental strain. Every chapter are surprising, I got excited everytime. The narration ensures that each chapter has a significant impact on every reader rather than rushing through the events.
