For today's prompt i chose another character I didn't think I'd pick up. I recently caught up with Jujutsu Kaisen's recent manga updates and the appearance of the reincarnated cursed spirit of Naoya left me shocked. I'll it that he isn't the most torturous thing to look at, albeit being highly unsettling to lay eyes upon. I was more shocked to see his appearance in such a horrific way that he seemed to be the most befitting character to write for this prompt. Naoya hails from the Zenin clan and was raised with a superiority complex about his skills. There's a frequent mention of how he looked done upon others while seeing himself as the most important person around. The only person who he ever acknowledged was Toji and encountering him made Naoya believe in the ideology that sin of the insignificant is ignorance of the true strength. However, this didn't mean that his unrefined ways of narcissistic thinking were changed. He remained the arrogant person he was and eventually this unchanelled energy of him grew inside.

As a human and as a vengeful cursed spirit, Naoya remains the same in his intentions and personality. After getting killed by Maki, i didn't expect to see more of Naoya anytime soon. This is why i was super shocked to see his face peeking out of the spirit which made me disgusted. My disgust towards Naoya stems from his own actions rather than his looks, though his looks do contribute majorly. As a human, Naoya was defeated by Maki who annihilated the entire clan along with Naoya. This defeat at the hands of Maki resulted in unsured negative emotions which slowly manifested in his body giving him another chance to live as a spirit. As a great irer of Toji, Naoya didn't want to acknowledge that Maki was probably getting closer to being the strongest after Mai sacrifices herself ; on par with Toji. Naoya remained in denial throughout their entire fight which probably resulted in bottling those emotions.

My first impression on seeing Naoya in his cursed form was definitely repulsive and horror. He appeared again when i least expected him to and with his horrifying appearance, I could only stare at him. This is probably why his form had such a profound impact on me. In his cursed form, he no longer resembles a human and we are only able to see his arms and face peeking out occasionally when he wants to. His cursed spirit is in the shape of a caterpillar, which in my opinion, made him look much more horrifying. Some of his s also made me chuckle due to some funny angles of his body. His face is covered in the insect and he appears to have a mask on. I personally found this form to be less horrifying as compared to the one he acquired when he activated his domain expansion technique. I've seen a lot of creatures but something about Naoya'a cursed spirit from after activating Domain Expansion was terrifying to look at.

It looked as if the caterpillar had converted into a chrysalis with a skull protruding and multiple veiny, tentacles sticking out from the side and ing his framework. Seeing his fights in this form was much more terrifying. For one, i feared that he'd actually end up defeating Maki and others and that he'd resurrect back into his human form. His terrifying evolved form just elevated those fears. Plus, some s actually ended up sickening me a lot, much to my own surprise. Even with the black and white theme of manga, somehow i could visualise him and it made his spirit look much more terrifying than it should've been. I think the part that disgusted and horrified me the most was when he'd peek out of the masked skull of the insect to spout some nonsense. Those scenes were just downright scary and unexpected for me and really made me feel uncomfortable. I've never liked Naoya's narcissistic character and didn't enjoy seeing him come back again to fight. However, it can't be ignored that his presence was what fuelled Maki's strength and development as a sorcerer.
