20. Favorite OST from horror, psychological or mystery anime.

I like the Psycho- 1st Opening theme song Abnormalize and it is performed by the Japanese rock band Ling Tosite Sigure I liked the first opening but it was a normal opening nothing too much just a simple opening which I like I don't like anime openings that are a little too much for my ears I like a simple yet calm psychological anime opening because in Psychological anime there anime openings some are a lot weird with a lot of screaming in it and doing the absolute most which scares me and my ears but I still loved the opening because of the nice colors and music it's too amazing for words I really loved it and I knew what the first opening is called but I couldn't what it was all I know is it had the word Ab in it it's been so long since I heard the anime opening of Psycho- but I loved a lot the ending song of Psycho season 2 called Nothings carved in stone by Out Of Control now season 2 Psycho- anime openings are really good so why couldn't they do that for season 1 of Psycho- I wish they would have done that it would have been so cool and the colors and of course Shinya Kogami has to smoke also and drive a fancy car in the opening sequence and plus he's really handsome*sighs* he was my first ever anime character crush now I know I love Sasuke Uchiha a lot but nothing is going to replace Shinya Kougami he will always be my first anime character crush I fangirled over him a lot and I still do now smiles I love Psychological anime so much.

What is Psycho- about?

Justice, and the enforcement of it, has changed. Inspectors uphold the law by subjugating, often with lethal force, anyone harboring the slightest ill-will; alongside them are Enforcers, jaded Inspectors that have become latent criminals, granted relative freedom in exchange for carrying out the inspectors' dirty work.

Into this world Steps Akane Tsunemori, a young woman with an honest desire to uphold justice. However as she works alongside veteran Enforcer Shinya Kougami, She soon learns that the Sibyl system's judgments are not as perfect as her fellow inspectors assume. With everything she has known turned on its head, Akane wrestles with the question of what justice truly is, whether it can be upheld through the use of a system that may already be corrupt.

My review on some Psycho- openings and endings

Underneath the mishmash of electronics and synths that the piano woodwinds and strings in Yugo Kanno's score for Psycho- once if finds an aura in tragedy that drapes over the anime like a heavy curtain just waiting to be opened the stifling images that Kanno evokes in his music aligns well with Gen Urobuchi's screen play for the anime and me as well when I first heard the anime openings which depicts and describes a grim future where the absolute need for societal harmony strips regular people and anime fans like myself the very essence of what it means to be free and how to be free order is enforced through the Sibyl system which is also called a AI system or to me I think it is a AI for me and is anime fans to believe in because I don't think I can honestly trust that Sibyl system in anime it is so weird and clunky when it comes to identifying criminal intent like I can't trust that system as hard as I can throw it if I wanted to that system is not to be trusted I am telling you guys the truth and it governs nearly every aspect and information of a person's existence by scanning and analyzing their state of mind through these things called Psychological scanners I think they are for their brains and they can only do this sort of weird action when they are present at every light pole and street corner don't ask me why I just think it's totally wrong ugh and they do that at night too nope nah wouldn't be me I'll tell you that that's for sure.

But withthin this world the men and women of the place called the public Safety Bureau severe as the human face of the Sibyl System as well as it's chief defenders capturing those whose psychological imprints to me suggest they will become criminals not saying that they won't but they probably will become criminals the way they are becoming criminals especially their actions towards innocent normal and regular people it's so amoral more often than not I think not but many people are driven by the high minded ideas and ideals of crime and an ordered society forged by the system it's the idea of that is set for the fall and no track captures the impending tragedy in the face of action of crime itself better than the Opening Track Psycho- I love all the openings of Psycho anime.

Psycho- wastes no time in getting underway with the rythmic blast that marks the soundtracks beginning races along with an urgent purpose but just when you think it's all over there is a clash of the piano's plaintive layering on top of the rhythm betrays the tragedies that are sure to come into the anime creating a engrossing duality the lamentation is heightened further by the inclusion of the violin which signs mournfully ebbing flowing liting all to bring out desperation as the very pillar of societal order shows it's weakness so while the forceful electronic dominates the soundtracks foreground to the suggest the actions the scant the hope sprinkled like ice cream sprinkles I love ice cream sprinkles anyways it has prominent motif heard in the strings of the electric guitar duet brings out the profoundness of the tragedy which envelopes much of the anime series to hear.

My favorite Soundtracks from Psycho-

The soundtrack The Gunpoint That Controls The Justice is as somber as the dissonance leads the way of the violin's motifs very grim upwelling early on isn't enough to reinforce how ominous the world is in the anime Psycho- the distant lilt from a singer and the synthy muted blares set the foundation for the uneasy atmosphere but it's the strings that got my attention because of the strings in the second part of the track where the music begins and becomes poignant and tragic as tragedy and hope intermingle though not complex the broad strokes that it paints is engaging matching the grim setting it pound after pound.

The Gunpoint That Controls The Justice

Kanno's electronica sets up the foundation for this dystopian future as it weaves an unsettling fabric that slowly fraying it in spite of the Sybil system's tracks like

Crime Coefficient only further the setting and the pace of the anime by amplifying the unease Into full blown paranoia Crime Coefficient buzzes with unwavering resolve a few interruptions including a menacing and loud crescendo blast and crash ostinatos and which heightened the suspense and the images of one darting for endless urban alleyways filled with lurking dangers although the track is intense it's the eerie piano segment that cracks the sanity of lingering tones that agitate listeners like me and anime fans alike perhaps the only more vivid then this one and more spiral and out of control is Obsession which starts out with a few blips and flips here and there and bloops before unleashing a grating and pulsating blare that keeps going like a jackhammer between one's temple and knees while the way it drives up on to it's track title Obsession is more of a effective mood setter that I am going to set on repeat now.

The electronics Yugo Kanno proffers some funk and harsher acoustic guitar tones to give Psycho- gives the mood of modern unit of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division delivers with a strumming bass to lay out a chaotic air that is oddly pleasant and less methodical than one would expect from a government agency while it is short the track is enjoyable as it tugs to listeners along with a funky groove to it there is also Dominator which uses a huffing sound to stimulate the tension one might get out of out of a chase before a stimulating it's a heavier outlawish country sound takes over providing the soundtrack with much needed energy the heavy beats continue to run it's course adding an array of electronics to intensify the tension along a brief segment of silence where the suspense grows.

But as much as the unease soundtrack it's the melodies that bring out the tragedy in such stark that stand out the most in human mind for me is the piano that comes forth though it's motif's is very calm and serene they way how the piano rustles from the loss of what it means to be human the soft tone feels muted at times making for me a good reflection of an existence of the ups and downs that encomes life's joys and sorrows

The Way Of Life

The Way Yugo's Kanno's soundtrack slithers through it's digital labyrinth is absorbing as it tells a tale of ideals breaking down in the life of truth making the tragedy that unfolds on screen that make it much more pronounced for much of the ideas and characters hold are converted into action to defend the Sybil system those who would seek it and try to destroy it but Kanno's intense electronica tells the desperation behind the action wonderfully

This is why I love Psycho- openings and endings it's just so impactful to me that I even have Shinya Kougami as a keychain Sasuke Uchiha on my book bag especially my little squiggly squid with googley eyes to match it it's just so cute and silly and seriously Shinya needs to stop smoking it's going to be a bad habit for him but I love him a whole lot so who cares :)
