Just a thought and a question of ai use

I have been thinking of the ai set and amino alot more recently and a concerning thought came to mind, if amino is so chill about them releasing an ai set in their own app, does this mean that they're going to be okay with people who never made their sets by their own hands before in using them for events?

Would this encourage those who use already made resources or artificially made ones in putting their not-so-original work for events?

I know it's not possible but the chances of it happening someday is not zero

So my question is "will amino eventually allow this to be permanent/part of its app?"

If so I don't think we're gonna get along if amino considers them to be 'artists' too

TA has used AI-generated art before for their St. Patrick's Day event promotion material, so I would not be surprised if they allowed AI-generated artwork to be used for sets, even though they realize that we don't like it. I don't think they care much. Perhaps they'll surprise us and not allow it, but yeah.

Would it encourage others to use it? Most definitely so, especially s who want to create difficult events, but the rules of artists prevent them from doing so. So they'll just turn to AI and generate a set and use it, because they can do whatever they want with the event that way and they won't violate any artist's guidelines. Is this right? No, absolutely not. It's just another way for others to get away with doing things that they shouldn't, because they know they'll be called out for it.

Isn't one of the requirements for a set submission to be authentically yours and not plagiarised? 🤔 This is rather a genuine question since I'm not entirely sure if it was TA that implemented this rule or communities that wanted to apply for an event set it as an important requirement. Cuz if it's TA, I think it would be quite hypocritical to allow AI works and have such rule. But I might be wrong!! This is just a thought I got while seeing this whole AI issue

True!

Most events would put up a rule that requires original sets for their events but the events I'm gonna refer to as an example for unoriginal work would be biased ones (they do seem biased) yk

•a staff member from a comm using ai for their set and the mods of the community not minding it.

• or them asking someone to generate/ find a set for them and they wouldn't care if the sources within it is already from somewhere else.

I see the point :broken_heart:

The AI debate is quite ambiguous these years.. as there are people who don't mind it, while others are fighting it to be used moderately or for other purposes than creating or stealing art :sob:

Even if there's enough education regarding the use of AI on creative fields, there will always be some people who will ignore the needs of actual artists and submit their own ai based works. Instead, we should be guaranteed that TA will set some rules regarding AI and plagiarised work (bc as far as I , there were a few sets in the past that were stolen, but nothing was done to stop them..).

As a community, we can only do it within this small place, so if we have to make sure that we avoid such situations, we'll have to ask TA to apply an AI policy limiting its use.
