PSA ~ New Art Guideline!

As more and more of our are creating and posting art, the leadership team and I decided we needed to put a guideline in place to prevent plagiarism.

~ :tulip: Is Art Plagiarism Punishable By Law? :tulip: ~

According to College of Art and Technology (all citations will be at the bottom of the post) you can get in trouble by infringing another artist's right by posting their work without credit, tracing it, or claiming it as your own.

~ :tulip: What Do I Do If I Want To Post Art That Is Not My Own? :tulip: ~

Just follow our plagiarism and provide credit to the artist. You either need the name of the artist or the website in which you got the piece. Google does not count as it is a search engine and they do not own any art.

~ :tulip: How Do I Prove That I Own My Own Artwork? :tulip: ~

This is where our new guideline comes into play. If you would like to post art, you must provide proof in one of three ways:

1. Show your layers. With digital art you can include a screenshot of your layers which show your progression of art. Here is an example:

2. Show Progression Shots. With digital or traditional art, showing progress photos is an option. Example:

3. Put your supplies on your art and take a photo. This only works for traditional art.

4. Please include any reference photos you use.
