DIY 4th of July Lantern for dolls - Part 1

Materials:

• Notebook paper

• Markers

• Pencil

• Double Sided Tape (or glue)

• Ruler

• Hole punch (optional)

Step #1

First, take your piece of notebook paper and measure a 7 cm by 14 cm rectangle

Step #2

Cut out the rectangle

Step #3

Measure another piece of notebook paper to a 10 cm by 14 cm rectangle

Step #4

Cut out that rectangle. Now you should have two rectangles

Step #5

Now color stripes on the 10 cm by 14 cm piece of paper with a red marker. By using notebook paper, you can easily color inbetween the lines to get perfect stripes

Fold the striped paper in half

On the short side of the folded paper, measure 1.5 cm on the open side. NOT the folded side of the paper

Step #8

Cut inbetween the red and white stripes starting from the folded side until you reach the 1.5 cm line you made earlier

Step #9

Now we grab the 7 cm rectangle and stick double sided tape to both of the long edges. Make sure the tape a little less than 6 cm on one side but less than 1.5 cm on the other. Leave a 1 cm gap on both sides on the end

Step #10

Now take the 14 cm edge of the striped piece of paper and stick it to the edge of the plain paper where the tape is. Then repeat on the other side. The paper should curve in the center.

Step #11

Now cut off two stripes and add a piece of double sided tape to the spot. Save the strip, you can use it later

Step #12

Now twist the paper where the stripes are on the outside. Stick the two ends together by overlapping the paper onto the double sided tape. Your lantern is complete!
