Hi
So, I wrote a short story/ poem for the writing competition. (My friend edited and proof read)
My song of choice is:
Falling - Harry Styles
This song (in my eyes) is about a man that lost the person that matters most to him, and lost himself in the process.
And the thing that hurts him most is that he lost the person because of his own actions and/or habits.
:warning: TRIGGER WARNING :warning:
This story deals with the effects of loss and has a lot of sad themes.
If that in any way can cause a trigger,(even though nothing is detailed explicitly) proceed with caution.
—enjoy—
A lot of emotions and thoughts can be seen swirling in the eyes of a sickly looking man.
How many days has it been?
Looking at the same scenery constantly.
How long has it been since he felt normal?
As the days , he can feel himself slipping away more and more.
His throat starts to constrict
And the tears pricking the corners of his eyes threaten to spill.
He finds himself looking at the ceiling he’s grown oh so accustomed to and can’t bring himself to lie any longer, when the truth is staring him right in the eye.
He’s dying.
And nobody is going to save him.
Nobody will be there for him.
He’s pushed everybody that matters to him away, hurting them all in the process.
His eyes, once filled with so much youth turn foggy.
“Is this really how it’s going to end?”
There isn’t a single drop of strength left in him.
He isn’t willing to fight any longer.
So he lets go, and accepts it.
Finally letting the tears that have so desperately wanted to be freed, fall.
The invisible force that has been sitting on his chest getting lighter with every breath and
His lungs constricting with every heart wrenching sob.
He accepts it.
If someone were to be near him they wouldn’t know what to do.
Seeing him, surrounded in a room filled with pictures, empty beer bottles and an ocean of memories,
Yes, he would be pitied.
