SCA OFF-TOPIC DAY

Hi, everyone! Emmy here with a quick, important announcement for you all!

On Friday, June 12th, we will be hosting our first Off-Topic day!!

As you might've seen in other Communities, Off-Topic Day is an intervally-hosted event where the staff almost completely slackens the Community guidelines — meaning, for an entire day, are able to post and host whatever they desire, so long as whatever they share with the Community abides by Amino's General Guidelines — and the staff will completely disregard it. Its purpose is to make communities seem more like an actual social media platform, and to spark excitement whenever it draws near, be it weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly.

We listened to your on our poll some time ago, and we are here to deliver! Starting Friday, SCA Staff will be doing a weekly trial for this event to see if it is good for our Community. These first few weeks may be unpredictable in that we may change the day, rate, or conditions at which these Off-Topic Days will happen, or we may just scrap the idea altogether after we try it out. At this point, we are unsure of what the future holds — however, if we see a lot of positive from this, we will make sure to make it a permanent aspect of the Community!

While SCA is already a very lenient and open platform, we normally have a standard of which we hold the content people put out here - we tend to disable anything that is irrelevant to the Community. However, Off-Topic Day gets rid of the problem of not being able to share something non-singing/Community related with the people of SCA. By implementing this, even if it ends up being temporary, we hope that it enriches the culture and experience of the entire Amino!

SCA Staff hopes to see some eye-opening diversity in the Community's content on Friday! Please make sure you use the hastag #OffTopicDay so that your posts are protected from being disabled, as they wouldn't be a part of the event otherwise!

Off-Topic Day Week 1 has started as of 12:30 am EST on June 12, 2020, and will end on 24 hours later at 12:30 am EST on June 13th. We'd span the event to accomodate all timezones, but then it would last 3-4 days, which would be half the week. We hope you understand.
