Introduction

Salutations! As you all know, February brings the thawing of winter, the anticipation of spring and Valentine’s Day. With love in the air and winter melting away to host the bountiful spring, the MTC has a bundle of fun events for the club and the of the community to enjoy! We hope to see you at the events of this delightfully romantic month!

Internal Preliminary Competition

To start off the month, MTC has prepared a big love-themed competition for the whole community to enjoy! Based on the popular TV show ‘The Four’, the club has repurposed the idea with the addition of a seasonal love theme to it! But before that, there will be a preliminary round to decide our ‘FOUR’! If you haven’t seen the show, the ‘FOUR’ are 4 contestants that are selected before the show to be defenders of the seats, which represent places in the finals. There will be an internal competition to decide our ‘FOUR’, which will be held in the MTC Private Chat.

Rules & Mechanisms

• The songs must be love-themed. This includes different types of love like familial love, friendship love and heartbreak. The judges will determine if the song meets the criteria. Depending on their judgement, points will be given or deducted accordingly.

• Please prepare at least 2 songs. One more song in case there is the need for a tiebreaker.

• The scoring system is out of 30. Each judge will score a number from 0 to 10 which will then be put together to give the final score.

• Do not spam the chat with messages, stickers, pictures etc.

• Please come to the chat on time. If you don’t you may miss your chance to in!

• The mechanism is the elimination rounds concept.

• The competition will be one round and the top 4 scorers will be the winners as well as our ‘FOUR’ for the public competition.

The Four : Valentine's Edition

In the beauteous month of love, the MTC is hosting a love-themed competition with a twist! Based on the innovative TV show ‘The Four’, the community will go head to head with the ‘FOUR’. Who are the ‘FOUR’ you may ask? The ‘FOUR’ are the 4 champions who ed the internal preliminary round of the competition who’ll be defending their seats from challengers from across the community. You will get the opportunity to challenge them with love-themed songs, and if you succeed? You become a member of the FOUR. Hope to see you participate and perhaps become a part of the FOUR!

Rules & Mechanisms

• Please don’t spam the chat with messages, stickers and/or pictures. It will cause lag for the judges and chat s, as they are switching between chats.

• No trash-talking who are participating or spectating.

• Please be respectful and cooperative! Pay attention to any information that judges and/or chat s give.

• Please come to the chat on time if you are participating. of the initial ‘FOUR’ are required to be at the event early.

• Please be patient in the event of an interval. Technical difficulties may arise and may take extra time to resolve.

There will be a list for the challengers in the chat of maximum 15-20 people.

There will be 3 judges to vote whether the challenger can go up against a member of the FOUR.

Challengers with all yes votes can pick a member of the FOUR to challenge them for their spot.

If a member of the FOUR is challenged and they win, they get to keep their spot as one of the FOUR. They also cannot be challenged again until two challenges have ed.

If the challenger wins, they take the FOUR member’s place and become one of the of the FOUR. They can be challenged instantly after their place is secured, but after being challenged and winning, they cannot be challenged again until two challenges have ed.

Once we go through the list, the final of the FOUR will compete for the big prize.

2nd Place : 500 coins + Preset title

3rd Place : 500 coins + Preset title

4th Place : 500 coins + Preset title

Open Mic : Love Theme

To go with the romantic themed month, MTC is hosting a love-themed Open Mic! Wanting to perform without the stress of the competition atmosphere or simply looking for some critique to improve your singing? This Open Mic is for you. At the event, you can perform a love-themed song and, if you would like, you can receive criticism from the MTC. It’s a fun learning experience, so we hope that you’ll attend!

• You must sing a love song. This includes songs about romantic love, familial love, friendship, heartbreak etc.

• Please be patient in the instance of a break. Technical difficulties may come up and they might take time to fix.

• The open mic will be list-based.
